Speaking to journalists, on the sideline of her victory, and the commencement of her pet project- “A Chance With Success,” Queen Okafor, who hails from Ora Eri in Aguata LGA, and a 300 level student of Open University, Abagana, Anambra State, said she designed the project to touch lives of the less privileged in Nigeria in a different platform.
During her visit to the female prisoners at the Onitsha Prisons, as well as the children at Model Orphanage Home, Awka, on Saturday, August 20, 2016, to donate foodstuffs, toiletries among others to them, Queen Okafor, said “Let us feed the hungry! Let us back the crippled! Let us show the right path to the blind! Let us speak for the dumb! Let us interpret the right words to the deaf! Let us help the helpless! Let us give face to the faceless! Let us give great hope to the hopeless!
“Charity begins at home, and not when we get to Rome! Don’t just pray for the needy, bring out a bit from the little you have and offer to the needy; if everyone can do same, then there shall be ample opportunities for the needy. Coming together makes us stronger!
“‘A Chance With Success’ is a pet project designed by me to touch lives in a different platform. I want to give back to the society out of the little I have.
“As a role model and philanthropist, I have decided to feed one person if I cannot feed a nation, thus the essence of this visit to the female prisoners at Onitsha Prisons and children at the Model Orphanage Home, Awka today (Saturday, August 20, 2016).
“I have spent a lot of time with them, as well as encouraged them to look up to God the creator of man.
“I wish to also use this platform to thank everyone that supported me and also plead for more support because the society needs much more from us. The widows; the handicapped and less privileged ones need our care and support.”
It would be recalled that Queen Success Adaobi Okafor, emerged Miss One Nigeria World, at an event organised at the Mable Arch Hotel, Awka, by Emilet Dreams Concept, last May.
