Nigerian youth are the architects of their problems in politics – Adedoyin

The convener of “Youth Arise for Politics” (YAP) and “Youth Arise for 2019” (YAF19), Mr. Adedoyin has indicted the Nigerian youth of being behind the problems they are currently encountering in politics.

Mr. Adedoyin said this during a meeting of a group of young politicians in Lagos on Thursday.

According to him “We the youth of nowadays don’t think and our thinking cap has gone with the wind. Those who fought for Nigeria’s independence in 1960 did so in their youthful ages. Obafemi Awolowo was 37, Nnamdi Azikiwe was 42, Anthony Enahoro was 27, Okotie Eboh was 27, Tafawa Balewa was 34, Ladoke Akintola was 36 and Ahmadu Bello was 36.”

“And another bitter truth is that those who were once in control of the country in 60s, 70s and 80s during their 20s and 30s are currently still in power controlling the economy and political affairs of the country.”

“Nigerian youth have allowed themselves to be used by these old fellows who have refused to leave the power for them as thugs both physical and online, singing praises of them during campaigns and rallies, kidnapping for them, killing and maiming, committing arsons, blaspheming opposition on social media on their behalf to mention but few of their crimes.”

Mr. Adedoyin, who is also the National Coordinator of National Interparty Youth Alliance (NIYA) said the research conducted so far by their forum stated that 40% percent of Nigerian youth do not belong to any political party and are not card carrying members of any registered party.  30% percent of them are yet to register and collect their PVCs.
