Osun Guber Election: HDP postpones Primary election for Governorship Aspirants till July 18
The Hope Democratic Party (HDP) Osun state chapter has postponed the proposed primary elections to be conducted by the party for aspiring Governorship candidates that was earlier slated for Sunday, 8th of July, 2018. The new date is set for the 18th of July, 2018.
It would be recalled that a six-man committee which had Mr. Dada Olusegun and Mr. Muritala Jelili Ayobami as joint chairmen was constituted last two weeks. It further named the election planning committee members to include Mr. Adelowo Quadri , Mr. Muritala Dauda Ademola, Mr. Lukman Lolade and Mr. Lekan Ajao.
Hope Democratic Party (HDP) was registered on November 10, 2006, later de-registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission in 2011, but was later reinstated by a federal high court judgment in 2015. HDP participated in the last 2015 general elections. It was also one of the 14 political parties that fielded presidential candidates in the last presidential election.
Hope Democratic Party (HDP) was brought to Osun state in 2015, almost a month after the general elections. It has then become active and registered its presence in the minds of Osun state citizens.
This forthcoming governorship election will be the first of its kind the party will be participating since it was brought to the state.
