SET YOUR SECURITY BEAM LIGHT ON APC – HON.TUNDE KAZEEM ADEWINMBI TELLS SECURITY AGENCIES
The Osun State Local Government elections into the 389 councillorship seats have been concluded with the ruling party in the state (APC) clearing all the 389 seats despite the court verdict released by the Federal High court sitting in Abuja restraining the holding of elections into the local council development authorities (LCDAs) and withholding local government allocations in the state.
Though PDP, the main opposition party in the state out rightly boycotted the election for lack of transparency and failure to comply with the rule of law. Hon.Tunde Kazeem Adewinmbi, a gubernatorial aspirant and a former caretaker chairman of Ede North Local government described the whole election exercise as undemocratic, fraudulent and unconstitutional. He cited many areas where violence and election malpractices took place. He also accused the governor of appointing inexperienced, bias and incompetent individuals as members of the State electoral body.
Hon.Tunde Kazeem Adewinmbi further reiterated the fact that local government election did not hold in the state. Finally, he advised the security agencies in the state to focus their security touch light on the political activities of APC in the forthcoming governorship election coming up on September 22.
According to him “INEC and all security agencies deployed for the election must remain neutral and unbiased, before, during and after the 2018 election in the state. "We also insist that the forthcoming governorship election must be free, fair, credible and transparent. Anything short of these will not be acceptable to us", Hon.Tunde Kazeem Adewinmbi added.
